Prom Is Not That Special
For the past month, people have been asking me if I was going to prom. When I would respond with a "no", they would start to over exaggerate about how it's suppose to be the best night of my life. I also tend to hear that I'm going to regret it in about 20 years. Honestly speaking, I probably won't even remember half of your names in 20 years. I would love to know who told people that so I can have a conversation with that person. Prom will not be the best night of my life and I'm sure I won't regret it ladies and gentlemen so please stop telling me that. Whoever swindled yall won't be able to swindle me because its all bull. It's just too much money for like 4 hours. Boys have it easy because all they have to do is get a tux, shoes, and a haircut. Girls need a dress, shoes, makeup, hair, manicure and pedicure. All of that sounds like $800 or more that I don't feel the need to spend for 4 hours. I need my money to be spent on more important things like college. The government is giving me less than $450 for me to go to school so I need my money. One of the best days of my life will be graduation day when I walk across the stage and receive my diploma. I can care less about anything else going on this school year to be honest. I just want to leave so I can start my new life with new people. Have fun at the prom though.

My Passion
A passion that I have is astrology. That can be both bad and good. Astrology is the study of the movements and relative positions of celestial bodies interpreted as having an influence on human affairs and the natural world. Since I was young, I was into the zodiac signs. Every Sunday when my grandmother received the newspaper, I would go straight to the back of the paper to read the horoscope section. My mother owns a horoscope book and I would read up on the signs. I believe it's good because I know how things can work out between me and other signs. It can also be bad because there's a lot of different beliefs and judgement about the signs too.

CRR
Right now, we're writing our essays on A Midsummer Night's Dream. I feel like my essay was good the way it was but there was a complaint that my essay wasn't two pages long. I was told I could connect it back to Othello and Romeo and Juliet but I couldn't figure out how. It's times like this that I miss BAM so that we wouldn't have to write in class. I just can't wait until this is all over.
Procrastination (SSR)
As I sat here thinking of what to blog about, I became mad. I didn't know what to write and it's the day before senior trip. I have to wake up at 5:15am to make it to the bus on time and it's 11:45 and I'm awake blogging. The only person I can blame for this is myself because I procrastinate too much. I have always waited until the last minute to get things done. I didn't even mention that I knew about my trip for months and just decided today to shop and pack my suitcase.
I have a project due every Tuesday for Ms. Tomlin and I always wait until Monday night to get it done. I try to make changes to my bad habits but it's so hard. Sometimes I think I work better under pressure but time and energy is never on my side. Time management is important in college so I'm trying to change my ways now. I won't give up on myself though.

BAM (CRR)
When asked the question if the class should read Hamlet together or do the BAM program, I was one of the people who voted 'no' for BAM. Acting has never been my thing. I am too shy to stand up in front of people and do anything. Although, when the program did start and we were first introduced to WT, I loved the game of 'Yosemite'. I would usually look forward to playing it because that's the only thing I was in favor of doing. I was even able to win a game of Yosemite and it felt great.
However, I did enjoy the performances. Of course we had the best performances but everyone else did good too. I loved how one of the schools had the whole class participate. They went up and did something I couldn't see myself doing. Overall, BAM wasn't that bad and sometimes I miss it.

Another Class
I am so excited to be doing my upcoming project for my economic class. We will be working on a project that is going to help us out later in life. I also appreciate the fact that she split the project up. We have to come up with a real career that works with our GPA. We decided if we wanted a partner (marriage) or not and were given a number of children and income.
Thank God that my partner and I, Fanta, were given no children. We chose to have a teacup yorkshire terrier and that's it. We are able to bring our incomes together and spend it on important things other than children. Now we just need to figure out where we are going to live and the transportation we are going to need. I can't wait until the project is over so I can see how we worked it out with our incomes and needs.

The Greatest Rapper of All Time
I absolutely can not wait until March 23, 2015! You may be wondering what's so special about the date and I'm here to tell you. That is the day that Kendrick Lamar's long awaited album will be releasing. His last album, 'Good Kid M.A.A.D City' which went platinum came out October of 2012 and is considered to be a classic. It was said that he was going to release his next album in September of 2014. That never happened. Then he announced the album will be released before 2015. Once again that didn't happen.
Last night he released what the album cover looks like and said there are 17 songs on the album. But yet, the album is still 'Untitled'. I'm eager to know the name of the album and hear the greatness that will come from it. I hope it's worth the wait and can go platinum because he deserves it. A look at the album is below:

Other Classes
In my College Readiness class with Ms. Young, we have a project due March 12th. She was teaching us how to do MLA citations because she says they will be used in college. We used about 10 articles to write citations about, along with a who, what, when, why, and how. We also watched "Do The Right Thing" directed and starring Spike Lee. It's a movie about Black and Latinos being against the Italians and Koreans in their Brooklyn hood.
Ms. Young wants us to do two different parts of a Power Point presentation and send it to her. One will be based on our citations and the articles while the other will be based on the Spike Lee movie. I don't really remember most of the movie. I also don't want to do the project. I have no choice but to do it though.

SSR: Movie
A movie I recently watched that touched me was 'American Sniper.' It came out in December of 2014 and was produced and directed by Clint Eastwood. It was based on a true story about a army veteran named Chris Kyle. Chris, also known as the 'Legend', because he was the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history with 160 kills. Chris was so dedicated with serving his country that he barely made time for his wife and two children. His wife kept telling him that if he didn't come home permanently then her and the kids would be home when he came home to visit.
After serving four tours in the army, Chris came home permanently to be home with his family. He was slightly traumatized when he came home though. In one scene of the movie, Chris (Bradley Cooper) was facing the television and the audience can hear gun shots from the war. The camera was then faced at the television which showed it was off. Chris suffered for a while but was able to get better and return to his normal self.
In the last scene of the movie, Chris (Bradley Cooper) was seen playing with his children and showing his wife love. He told his wife he was heading out with a friend to the shooting range to help and talk to a fellow veteran who was going through post-traumatic stress disorder. The movie ended with a sentence saying "Chris Kyle was killed that same day trying to help a veteran." I cried instantly. I cried because Chris was a hero and could've easily died in the war but came home for good to be with family to die.
I researched his name immediately and found out the man who suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder shot him while at the shooting range. There was no clear reason for why he shot Chris but he was caught by police and will have trial in February of 2015. Chris Kyle was killed on February 2, 2013 and was paid by respect by hundreds of people.

My Passion...
I love roller coasters with a passion. I remember when I was a child I use to cry about not being tall enough to get on the roller coasters. Now when I go to amusement parks, I try to get on every high speedy roller coaster I can. Most people have a fear of being up so high and having no control over their life. Well I'm different. I like not having any control over my life and my stomach dropping along with the ride.
When I get to the top of the roller coaster I feel myself becoming nervous of what's about to happen. It still doesn't stop me from getting on and having fun. That's why I can't wait to go on the senior trip. Iv'e been to Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion so I know what to expect and I am excited for it. I just wish April will hurry up and get here so I can have my fun.
